iPods are popping up in more and more places all over
the world. As featured in
the gallery at iPodlounge, photos of iPods across the globe
have been collected from over sixty countries. The gadget
gallery has made it to a new mark, posting more than two
thousand poses of people showing their iPod pride. There
are pictures of iPods from sea to shining sea and beyond,

Downloads Dominate -
Downloads topped the singles sales charts in the UK last month. Download sales
have been increasing every month since October, but they
actually outsold CD singles for the first time in January.
CD singles sales are still the highest sales overall, but
digital downloads are definitely here to stay. So much
so that The Official Charts Company (OCC) is giving digital
downloads an official category of its own on the chart
in the near future. - from BBC

At The Top -
Hot dog! All kinds of cool stuff goin' down in the Monkie
Zoo! We mentioned yesterday that we added The
Staff page.
Today, after many requests, we finally added a Search page!
Now you can search MacMonkies and the rest of the web with
the style and ease of Google. And of course, it's also
time for your Wednesday Desktop Edition. Time for me to
shuddup and get to the fun!
New GOO!
New Desktops -
A fabulous time in desktop design is what's in store for
this week's Wednesday Desktop Edition! 5 New Desktops have
all lined up in the Gallery to beautify your desktop view.
Let's cut to the front of the crowd and grab a look!
Nature -
"Green acres is the place for me. Farm livin' is the..."
Whoops! Wrong
song! But we do have a wonderful rendition of Green
Meadows from
the ever talented Aussie artist Michael
Heath. This breath taker was taken
near Tamworth NSW, the Country Music capital of Australia.
Yee-haa!
But
don't be deceived. It's not normally that green. Hmm...Sounds
like Wyoming!
Desktops -
When looking for that romantic moment, most would find
themselves at "Lookout Point." But apparently, Jack
Juliussen found himself just outside the parking
garage taking the radiant pic titled Parking.
One of Jack's desktop box specialties, this most excellent
number is one of the many fine works you can find at Ramasjang.
Rock on!
3-D Rendered - There's been quite a
lot of quality coming out of the design
studios
of ShiftedReality
as of late. Juergen Eilts finds himself At
the Pond for his latest in digital re-creations.
This serene scene is a texture and light study Juergen
created with Vue d'Esprit 4.1, and it's certain to become
one of your all time favorites!
We're
most pleased to feature another great work by Alan
Sherwood, a MacMonkies
favorite artist. Alan retires the bright shine of the
flash in GUI stardom and brings
us all back down to Earth with Tired
Stars. This mesmerizing piece is one from
Alan's Motheaten series found at burntcanvasdesign.
Whoa
duda! It seems that Mr. Marty
Leone has Founda
Super Buddha! Now, I remember a pair
of those less than skinny dudes at each end of the bookcase
holdin' up the pages. But I had no clue they had super
powers and well as fly! This great selection by Marty
really pumps some pizzazz in his cape of Buddha's enlightenment.
Enjoy!
Thanks

FALLING DOWN
A man was fibbing away about how great things are in his
country. Finally, he starts describing the tall buildings
in his country.
"There is a building so tall,
it took my friend Alex 72 hours to fall off it!"
"Oh, my GOSH!" says his friend. "Surely
he must have died!"
"Of course. He was without
food or water for 3 days!"
SAY IT ISN'T SO!
Three clergymen were sitting in a boat, fishing.
"I'm thirsty," said the first. "I'm gonna go get
myself a Coke." So he got out of the boat, walked
across the water, and came back with his Coke.
"Ooh, that looks good," said
the second and got out of the boat. He walked across
the water, got his
Coke,
and came back.
"You're right," said the third. "I think
I'll get one too." He steps out of the boat and sinks
like a rock.
"Hey," said the first clergyman to the second, "should
we tell him where the rocks are?"

MEN'S MINDS
The other morning,
a husband leapt out of bed, eager to finish installing
the new window system on their home workstation. "You
men," the wife sighed. "All you ever think

STOP IT!
One day, a mechanic was working late
under a car and some brake fluid dripped into his mouth.
"Wow! That stuff isn't too bad tasting," he
thought. The next day, he told his buddy about tasting
the brake
fluid, and that he was drinking a cup with lunch. His
friend was a little concerned but didn't say anything.
The next day, he decided to drink a pint. The day after
that, he was up to a full bottle's worth. His
friend was now really worried. "You know, that brake fluid is poison and really
bad for you. You better stop drinking that stuff!"
"Hey, no problem," he said. "I can stop any time!"
