Sunday Go To Meetin'! - One Sunday, a pastor told his
congregation that the church needed some extra money. He asked
the people to consider donating a little more than usual into
the offering plate. He said that whoever gave the most would
be able to pick out three hymns. After the offering plates were
passed, the pastor glanced down and noticed that someone had
placed a $1,000 bill in the offering. He was so excited that
he immediately shared his joy with his congregation and said
he'd like to personally thank the person who placed the money
in the plate. A very quiet, elderly, saintly looking lady all
the way in the back shyly raised her hand. The pastor asked her
to come to the front. Slowly she made her way to the pastor.
He told her how wonderful it was that she gave so much and in
thanks asked her to pick out three hymns. Her eyes brightened
as she looked over the congregation, pointed to the three most
handsome men in the building and said, "I'll take him and
him and him."

News On The Net...
Apple 1 Of A Kind! - One of the original Apple 1 computers
sold recently at an auction
for $14,000. The Apple 1 was originally made by Wozniak for Hewlett
Packard and sold for $666.66. The computer was won by the developer
of HyperStudio, Roger Wagner. Roger also has an original Lisa
in his possession, but says the Apple 1 will be his prized piece.
- from MacCentral
Less For More - AOL Time Warner has reported a loss of
$54.2 billion for their first-quarter results. This means they
have lost nearly half of their value, which was $106 billion
at the time of the merge in January of 2001. Much of the loss
is due to bad results with online advertising. AOL has plans
to try to improve online advertising, but they are not hopeful
for a considerable increase in this area. The company's gain
was $9.8 billion, only one-fifth of it's costs. This in spite
of 1.4 million new subscribers. Gee, imagine
that. - from MacUser
Stockholder's ScuttleButt - Last week Apple held a shareholder's
meeting in California. Here is some of the scuttlebutt generated
from that meeting:
On Intel - Jobs said Apple has "no plans" to put
Mac OS X on intel.
On Digital Cameras - Jobs said having Bluetooth support available
for Digital Cameras would not come about because of speed issues.
On Piracy - Jobs said that Apple would take the "middle
ground" on the issue of stealing music.
On Email Suggestions - Jobs said, "you'd be surprised
how many we consider among ourselves within the company,"
and encouraged people to keep sending Apple your suggestions
via email.

PowerBook Zone and Think
Secret
Sneaky Snakes! - Many people fled their homes in the capital
of Bangladesh after a snake
charmer found over three thousand cobras and hundreds of eggs
in two of the homes. The snake charmer, Dudu Miah, was only called
to find two large cobras that had been spotted on the property
of Mantu Kasai. But digging underneath the houses unveiled the
enormous nest of cobras. Miah may look for more cobras in the
area but has yet to decide what to do with the cobras he has
already found. - from Excite
Doin' The Domino - Mike Uris from New Jersey has eaten
a steady diet of pizza and Coke for the last five years. For
lunch he orders a medium Domino's
pizza and eats 6 slices, along with two cokes. He follows up
with one slice of the pizza and a coke for dinner, then the last
slice and the last coke for supper. This means the retired advertising
director has eaten 2,000 pizzas in the last five years, not to
mention how many Cokes he has consumed. Uris eats something other
than pizza about once a month and occasionally requests different
toppings on his pizzas. He always has his pizza delivered and
always orders from the same store. Sure that's
not Chubby Checker and Blimpies? from
Ananova
Parting Shot - Some do, some don't. It seems one party
in Washington wants to give your money back. And the other wants
to take it back. The ongoing battle over the destination
of your surplus tax dollars seems a never ending fight. However,
somewhere amidst the squabbling, a brand new tax form appeared.
This new "simplified" form would certainly make things
easier filling it out. But would it really end the battle? CLICK
HERE to view the new 1040 EZ 2 DO
TAX FORM.

Have you Heard?
Buzz In Brief - Some quick notes:
It seems that due to comments from Steve Jobs at the recent
Apple stockholder's meeting, that some are anticipating the release
of the G5 processor to be "around the corner."
Still no definite word on the arrival of QuickTime 6,
but screen shots can be found HERE
(break out le French).
iPodHacks
reports that there may be a version of iPod for PC users "with
modified firmware to work with a Windows-based, iTunes-like application
provided by RealNetworks."

We were discussing how to pronounce certain computer names.
Is "Linux" pronounced "Lin-ucks" or "Lie-nucks"?
And is the editor "vi" called "veye" or "Vee-Eye"?
So we tapped them into our friendly Mac, and asked its verdict
on pronunciation:
"Linux" is pronounced "Lin-uks".
"vi" is pronounced "Six".
