Today's Smirk - A director was screen testing Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger for a new film about classical composers. Not having figured out who to give which part to, he asked Sly who he would like to be. Stallone said, "I like Mozart. I want to be Mozart."

So the Director said, "Very well, you can be Mozart." Then he turns to Arnie and asked, "Arnie, who would you like to play?"

And Arnie responded, "Ah'll be Bach!"

We're Back!! - Howdy folks! Great to be back! We're back in the saddle again after a most enjoyed break. Hope you enjoyed the Holidays! A bit of stuff is going on here, so lets get right to it! Here's what going down in the Monkie Den:

• New Look
• New order in SW Updates (OSX first, then Classic)
• More "new goodies" just around the corner

I would especially like to thank Matthew Bice of IHeartNY for the cool borders and inspiration for changing things up a bit. There's still quite a bit to change over as far as the appearance on the site, so please bare with us as we continue to spruce things up.

In addition, there's plenty more to come. Keep your eyes peeled for a WAY cool new addition headed your way this coming Monday!

Also, don't forget that we are still updating daily, but with a different schedule. The new schedule will be posted shortly for your convenience. With that said, let's have some FUN! Enjoy!

New Desktops and Icons - This week's GUI Edition promises some fine Icon and Desktop selections for your downloading enjoyment. Let's dig in!

NEW Icons - Bringing in a bright New Year is Mr. Hein Mevissen, the masterful Mixer of miX the piX! Hein offers New Folders for a New Year that will give your desktop an awesome new look!

Speaking of awesome, get a load of SNOW.E 2 from RAD.E8's Sascha Höhne. This cooool set is the most right on, cool, complete, and far out icon set that this monkie has seen in a long, long time. Your eyes will thank you!

 

NEW Desktops - Always a welcome artist in Monkie Land is Alan Sherwood of EA Design. This week we return to Alan's Aqua series with Aqua VII. There seems to be no end to the creativity from the pixel pallet of Mr. Sherwood.

Wati Larke adds a scene of serenity with Waikiki Sunset. This beautiful piece from the collections of WatiWorks offers the next best thing to being there! Kick back and run your toes through the sand!

Next up is an awesome work from the galleries of Prevision titled Round Tower by Jack Juliussen. This is yet another amazing piece by Jack that we are privileged to display. Mmm, mmm, good!

NOTE: You might be thinkin', "Hey! Isn't that by Peter Lenler?" Well, this Monkie listed Peter as author in error. Please accept my apologies! All the previous pic listings have been corrected!

Wrapping up this week's GUI Edition is a colorful piece from MacMonkies webmaster Bradford Wiles. Brad has been playing with blocks again and brings you City of Light. Sometimes it's amazing what a little Light can do!
