Pic
of the Day - Ha! This pic (author unknown)
was sent to our Bananas man Ron
Westby. Ron and I
got a chuckle as he commented that it's a "good thing
Toes (the resident MacMonkies cool cat) didn't know
us 15 years ago!" Holy smokes, this could be incriminating!
On that note, I'll let the pic do the talking. Grab
a look!

good news we would like to share with you. See you then!

Safari 0.8.1
- Boy! That didn't take long! Apple
has already released a fresh Beta version of their just
introduced web browser Safari.
The latest version does not list any improvements. Get to

before the web jungle is hot on your trail!
LiteSwitch
X 1.5.2
- The good folks from Proteron
have updated their popular
application switcher LiteSwitch
X to version 1.5.2. This update fixes a critical
bug in the recently released 1.5.1 update. The bug prevented
anyone from using the LiteSwitch X hot keys if they had
selected Option-Tab or Control-Tab as the Hot Key Trigger.
There's no time like now to make the switch and get your
fix for LiteSwitchX!

This

Monkie
Sigh
- Ever heard a Monkie bark? Hmmm. Probably not. But you
may have heard one growl over the course of the last few
days! Hopefully, most things here at MacMonkies are back
to normal, though I won't hold my breath. **SIGH**
Anyway,
due to all the weird-oddities the last couple, this Update
will be a tad shorter than normal. Also, we will postpone
the wonderful news we mentioned yesterday until Monday.
Until then, check out the rest of the Monkie goodies including
2 New Icon sets ready for
the grabbin'. Check 'em out!

The
psychology instructor had just finished a lecture on mental
health and was giving an oral test. Speaking specifically
about manic depression, she asked, "How would you diagnose
a patient who walks back and forth screaming at the top
of his lungs one minute, then sits in a chair weeping uncontrollably
the next?"
A
young man in the rear raised his hand and answered, "A

Can't
Keep A Mac Monkie Down!
- Well, well. Wasn't that fun! Due to
a major hosting "situation,"
this Monkie got stuck in the butt with a real sharp something-or-other
and got some nasty downtime. If you can see this, it's been
fixed. If you can't, well what the heck! Please keep in
mind that your ISP (AOL, Earthlink, ATTBI, etc.) uses a
thingy called internet cache. So our humble little site
may appear to go in and out on occasion for the next day
or 2 until all that stuff is cleared out. Till then, if
you "note the NET" and type in:
http://www.macmonkies.net
You
should be able to see things quite spiffley. Also, to keep
the stress down and the elbows high, we have only added
to the Software Updates for
this edition.
On
the lighter side of things, we have some WONDERFUL news
to share with you tomorrow, as well as an Icon or four.
Grab your vine for a real good time this Friday at MacMonkies!

Desktops
NEW
Desktops - WOW! What a fine selection of desktops
we have on hand this week in the Gallery for your eyes to
drool upon. Shall we?
3-Dimensions
- Heading up our 3-D Department is quite the inspiring
work from Martin Schulte,
our latest contributor. Just one of the many from Martin's
site, Searching
ought to give you some direction if you still haven't
found what you're looking for!
Returning
from the mind of Glenn
Fajardo is an amazing piece titled E-17606.
Glenn sure knows how to inspire your brain cells with
this mind blowing number!
Speaking
of mind blown, Rampant
Mac's Scott Chitwood warps in with quite the...the...hmmmmm.
Well, the indescribable work titled Rivendell
III.
We'll
let your eyes figure this one out!
Desktops
- Putting his print on our Desktop edition is Jack
Juliussen with Think
Wild (Red). This desktop stands firm in the
top ranks of excellence from the galleries of Prevision.
Your paws are sure to be pleased!
Knowing
nothing less than excellence, Xiupe
Créations' S. Stéphane also makes his
mark with X Grey.
This great
work will add plenty of class to your desktop x-perience
and even help those clutter bugs organize with a dock-style
design. X marks the spot!
Wrapping
things up is a very nice work from MacMonkies webmaster
Wiles. This Is Home
was a rather fun one to create as it is an actual photo
taken of Casper Mountain, about 2 miles from home in Casper,
Wyoming. Once the picture was scanned, the main pic was
texturized in Photoshop and water was added over a VERY
dry field with the Flood
filter from Flaming
Pear. Enjoy!
Personal
thanks to:
Glenn,
Jack,
Martin,
S. Stéphane, and
Scott
for
your wonderful work!

A
guy goes to a psychiatrist. "Doc, I keep having these
alternating recurring dreams. First I'm a teepee; then I'm
a wigwam; then I'm a teepee; then I'm a wigwam. It's driving
me crazy. What's wrong with me?"
The
doctor replies: "It's very simple. You're two tents."

FLOORED!
Two
fishermen were out on the lake when one of them dropped
his wallet. As they watched the wallet float down to the
depths of the lake, a carp came along and
snatched up the wallet. Soon came another carp who stole
it away and then a third joined in. Remarked one of the
fisherman, "That's the first time I've ever seen carp-to-carp
walleting."

SHAKEY
STORY
Shakey
went to a psychiatrist. "Doc," he said, "I've
got trouble. Every time I get into bed, I think there's
somebody under it. I get under the bed, I think there's
somebody on top of it. Top, under, top, under. You gotta
help me, I'm going crazy!"
"Just
put yourself in my hands for two years," said the shrink.
"Come to me three times a week, and I'll cure your
fears."
"How
much do you charge?"
"A
hundred dollars per visit."
"I'll
sleep on it," said Shakey.
Six
months later the doctor met Shakey on the street.
"Why
didn't you ever come to see me again?" asked the psychiatrist.
"For
a hundred buck's a visit? A bartender cured me for ten dollars."
"Is
that so! How?"
"He
told me to cut the legs off of the bed!"
