GOO!
Icons
NEW Icons -
Another grab of four New Icon Sets from 4 fine artists
is on hand that will have your eye candy i's begging
for more. Let's look!
Billy
James - Our first fine set comes from our
latest contributor Billy
James. Billy describes Warchalk as
the practice of marking a series of symbols on sidewalks
and walls to indicate nearby wireless access. That
way, other computer users can pop open their laptops
and connect to the Internet wirelessly. The practice
by the hobos of using chalk marks to indicate which
homes were friendly during the Great Depression inspired
an
interesting concept and a great
set of icons!
AGRAPHA
Icons - Harvey Lubin
of AGRAPHA Icons is
next up to the GUI plate with System
1 Folders. Harvey sports
his
fine craftsmanship with this fine set of system replacement
icons.
miX
the piX - From the
galleries of miX
the piX comes Hein's latest with TOOLBAR
icons. Hein really knows the shine
when it comes to the coolness of Aqua icons and this
amazing set is no X-ception!
DV
Graphics - Polishing off this week's fabulous
four in our Friday Icon Update is MWSF
Apps from
DV Graphics.
Always on the move for the latest and greatest,
Paul Sahner
brings you this cool set of 9
that will be plenty to keep your new or updated Expo
apps in new threads for some time to come. Enjoy!

TEXAS WOES
The
aspiring psychiatrists were attending their first class
on emotional extremes. "Just to
establish some parameters," said the professor to
the student from Arkansas, "What is the opposite of
joy?"
"Sadness," said the student.
And
the opposite of depression?" he
asked of the young lady from Oklahoma.
"Elation," said
she.
"And
you sir,"he said to the young man from Texas, "how
about the opposite of woe?"
The
Texan replied, "Sir,
I believe that would be giddy-up."

Apple
Argues Antitrust Settlement - Apple has responded
to the antitrust settlement made between Microsoft and
the
State
of California. In
the settlement, Microsoft offers $1.1 billion of vouchers
to Microsoft customers with two-thirds of the unclaimed
vouchers to be donated to California schools. Apple opposes
this because this leaves one-third of the unclaimed voucher
money going right back to Microsoft. Microsoft admits no
fault or violation of the law in the proposed deal. -

Stink
Out - Two Moroccan men thought to be drug
dealers recently got out of serving eight months
jail for time due to their
stinky feet. The men were found with boric salts,
which are
often used to cut cocaine before selling it. But
after the men explained why they had the salts,
the judge
let them go. They said their wives told them to
get the salts to treat their stinky feet, which
is a common
practice among Moroccans. -

NEW
GOO!
Desktops
NEW Desktops -
I am amazed by the awesome desktop work that can land
in one place all at the same time! This week's Desktop
Edition underscores that amazement with a superb set
desktops from some of the best artists on the web. There's
no new work from the Head Monkie this week, but what
you are about to see will make up for that and then some.
Let's do it!
3-D
Delectables - My, my, my! I don't know how
many times I can say wow on this one. Martin
Schultz starts
us off with a BEAUTIFUL 3-D landscape titled Mirror
Lake. Martin has the knack to giving you
that "next best thing to being there" feeling with
his amazing abilities!
And
of course we have a double WOW sporting an eye catcher
and a heart stinger with Sting
of Love II by Jack
Juliussen. Jack resides in Copenhagen, Denmark
and sports his amazing digital abilities using such
cool apps as Photoshop 5.5 and Cinema 4D XL.
Desktops
- Stepping up our Desktop Department with the tops in technology
is EMKdesign's Evan
Kaufman. Techno
Orange is quite
the which-way in modern techno art and barely touches
the surface of Evan's ever-creative abilities. We're
pleased as punch to have Evan's work once again grace
our pages!
Another
returning favorite is Alan
Sherwood. Alan offers up
an amazing work called Firestorm
IV. This bright and
beautiful desktop is sure to burn up your screen with
its eye grabbing appeal. And we don't mean Banana peels.
=)
Winding
up this week's selection of desktop eye candy is quite
the cleverly titled piece from Glenn
Fajardo. Glenn pops in with Laterona
Weaf. I really appreciate a great desktop
and an artist that can really make you think. In this
case,
you've got both!
Check
'em Out!
Special
Thanks --
My
thanks to 5 of the most talented artists I have met.
Wonderful
work, gentlemen!

Well, you don't. But you can delay the chaos by placing
RM's Scott

modify some already marvelous masterpieces. The result?
Five really cool "version 2" releases of
some of Scott's best. Call it RM's Best Hits even better.

OWN
PERSONAL
HELL
Hell's
gate keeper met Bill Gates at Hell's entry: "Welcome
Mr. Gates, we've been waiting for you. This will be your
home for
all eternity. You've been selfish, greedy and a big liar
all your life. Now, since you've got me in a good mood,
I'll be generous and give you a choice of three places
in which you'll be locked up forever"
The
gate keeper
took Bill to a huge lake of fire in which millions of
poor souls
are tormented and tortured. He then took him to a massive
coliseum where thousands of people are chased about and
devoured by starving lions. Finally, he took Bill to a
tiny room in which there is a bottle of the finest wine
sitting on a table. To Bill's delight, he saw a PC in
the corner. Without hesitation, Bill said, "I'll take
this option."
"Fine," said
the gate keeper, allowing Bill to enter the room. The
gate keeper locked
the room after Bill.
As he turned around, he
bumped into Lucifer.
"That
was Bill Gates!" cried
Lucifer. "Why did you give
him the best place of all!"
"That's what everyone
thinks" snickered the
gate keeper. "The
bottle has a hole in it!" "What about the PC?"
"It's
got Windows 95!" laughed
the
gate keeper. "And it's
missing three keys," "Which
three?"
"Control,
Alt and Delete."
