Ramble Amble -
I recently got a new electric shaver and was browsing
through
the "Operations Manual" for features, tips,
etc. I stumbled across
a statement that
said something to the effect of:
Please
wait one hour after waking up before using razor.
Say
WHUH??? Is this to ensure my whiskers are wide awake
and standing to attention before they get mowed down?
Sheesh! Just when
you think you'd seen it all! Busted

Software Engineer, a Hardware Engineer and a Branch Manager
were on their way to a meeting. They
were driving down a steep mountain road when suddenly the
brakes on their car failed. The car careened almost out
of control down the road, bouncing off the crash barriers,
until it miraculously ground to a halt scraping along the
mountainside. The car's occupants, shaken but unhurt, now
had a problem: they were stuck halfway down a mountain
in a car with no brakes. What were they to do?
"I
know," said the Branch Manager, "Let's have
a meeting, propose a Vision, formulate a Mission Statement,
define some Goals, and by a process of Continuous Improvement
find a solution to the Critical Problems, and we can be
on our way."
"No, no," said the Hardware
Engineer, "That will
take far too long, and besides, that method has never worked
before. I've got my Swiss Army knife with me, and in no
time at all I can strip down the car's braking system,
isolate the fault, fix it, and we can be on our way."
"Well," said
the Software Engineer, "Before we
do anything, I think we should push the car back up the
road and see if it happens again."

At
The Top - Though a certain Monkie hasn't had a whole
lotta time to delve into the desktop dimensions of 3 (hint

around the web. Keep those Submissions coming
and we'll get on the Monkie and see about some new work from
the Monkie
Master himself. Till then, let's dig in!
New
GOO!
New Desktops -
Dude! Another fine selection of 6 desktop works have
come your way from the net's finest! And as we mentioned
yesterday,
we will be posting the works of Michele Bugliaro in the
absence of his corner of the web. Also, we apologize
to Mr. Steve Sharp for the lack of mention for his fine
work that you will see in this Edition. Okay. Are we
ready? Lezzzzz go!
Desktops -
From Sir Steve Sharp we
have a piece that most of us wish we had more of on
hand in our household: Mr.
Money. This outstanding selection is another
fine example of Steve's abilities utilizing his collection
of Bots.
ETC... -
From the archives of Michele
Bugliaro (former webmaster
of Mikawares) comes Stray,
a piece that will surely rock your socks off! The rockabilly
band of the eighties
features vocalist/guitarist Brian Setzer. Perhaps underrated
in the music biz, Setzer's work stands up to the best.
Blaze on, Brian!
3
D - Stepping up our 3-D Department is Rising from Bob
Wiley. This great selection is Bob's "opposition"
to his previous submission titled Falling.
It may sound like an elevator around here, but Bob's
work is certainly on the rise!
On
another turn, we present to you the stylistic simplicity
of Jack Juliussen with Spiraluz.
Jack's work always adds that extra touch of class without
adding clutter to your desktop. This piece is no exception
to the quality Jack has to offer from the galleries
of Prevision.
Master
of Madness Scott Chitwood gets
real heavy as we haul out a Rampant
Mac classic titled Phat
Mac. Just the name of this desktop "tune"
brings quite the picture to one's imagination...Like
a Lazy Boy recliner in front of a stack of Apple computers
and...well, you get the picture.
Our
final selection for this week's Wednesday Desktop Edition
comes to us from Rob Randtoul, master mind behind the
wonderful works of PlasmaDesign. Just like the temperatures
here in Wyoming at times, Rob renders SubZero,
a cooool piece that will keep you chillin'! Enjoy!
Thanks
Department --
Scott,
Rob, Jack, Bob, Steve, and Michele...
Sheesh!
Does it get any better than this?!

There
was once a snail who was sick and tired of his reputation
for being so slow. He decided to get
some fast wheels to make up the difference. After shopping
around a while, he decided that the BMW Z-3 was the
car to get.
So
the snail goes to the nearest BMW dealer and says he
wants to buy the Z-3, but he wants it repainted "Z-S".
The
dealer asks, "Why 'S'?"
The
snail replies, "'S'
stands for snail. I want everybody who sees me roaring
past to know who's driving."
Well,
the dealer doesn't want to lose the unique opportunity
to sell a car to
a snail, so he agrees to have the car repainted
for a small
fee.
The
snail gets his new car and spent the rest of his days
roaring happily down the highway at
top speed.

whenever anyone would see him zooming by, they'd
