Quick
Break -
Another busy week has flown by faster than you can
say...hmmmm. Well, I am not sure what one could insert
here. But what it all means is that we'll be taking
Sunday off to get caught up on a flither of things.
We'll be back on Monday with all the normal madness
you've come to expect from the Monkie Crew.
Until then, feel free to browse around and don't
eat too much peanut butter at once!

GOO!
New Icons -
This week's Icon Update brings on 4 fabulous icon sets
from some great artists, including our latest iconist
Alan Sherwood. Guess that's my cue to get to the GOO
before I get caught in the drool.
burntcanvasdesign -
Burning up the pixel place mats is a hot new number
from burntcanvasdesign titled Another
Blue Folder Set. Don't let the modest
title fool ya here. Alan Sherwood has crafted an outstanding
set with quite the close attention to detail. We look
forward to seeing more from the multi-talented Mr.
Sherwood!
WatiWorks -
Hoppin' along toward the Easter season is Easter
In Spring from WatiWorks' Wati Larke. This beautiful set
will add warmth and fun, and a big ole rainbow of radiant
smiles to your desktop's day. Excellent work!
Steve
Ansell - Bubble, bubble, toil and...hard
work come once again from Steve
Ansell with Bubble
Icons 2.
These are just down right cool to have 'floating' around
as you do your desktop duties. The other Bubble-less
computers will be just plain jealous!
AGRAPHA
Icons - Wrappin' things up with a nice touch
of retro is AGRAPHA
System 7 from AGRAPHA
Icons. Harvey
Lubin grabs photorealistic relics from the past and
combines them with 21st Century icon technology for
a fine set of System replacements. Just be careful
of that hi-tech Remington keyboard! Enjoy!

LAWN MOWER MAN
The
man passed out in a dead faint as he came out of his
front door onto the porch. Someone dialed 911. When the
paramedics arrived, they helped
him regain consciousness and asked if he knew what caused
him to faint. "It was enough to make anybody faint," he
said. "My son asked me for the keys to the garage,
and instead of driving the car out, he came out with the
lawn mower."

Farewell - Apple calls it quits for
the G3 iMac product line five years after
its first release
in 1998. The Mac was criticized when it first came out
because
of its design, color, and because it lacked a floppy disc
drive. It was still one of the fastest running computers
of its time, however, and became a huge stepping stone
into USB ports and for Apple in general. 10 million G3
iMacs sold before the product line was pulled. **Sniff sniff**

The
Apple Gore - Former Vice President Al Gore is
the newest member of Apple’s Board of
Directors. Gore was voted in at the latest Apple Board
meeting. Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, believes that Apple can
benefit from Gore’s experience in Government as well
as the fact that he is a Mac user. Said Jobs, "Al
is going to be a terrific Director and we're excited and

My my my! We've had a couple feet of snow already
with another 6 to 12 inches in the forecast for tomorrow...SHEESH!
But due to the accumulation today, almost everything
was shut down early, including my job. So I was able
to get back to the Monkie Hut earlier than expected.
Question is, will I be able to get OUT in the morn?!
Ah well. At least we can get to another cool collection
of Monkie fun! Let's dig (or is that snow plow)!

New
GOO!
New
Desktops -
Dude! Dudettes! Ready for some awesome selections for
your desktop collections? We think this Desktop Edition
will really rock your socks off! So hang tight and let's
roll!
3-D Rendered -
Gettin' down to business with some serious fun is Rob
Randtoul from PlasmaDesign.
Rob throws some GUI Jacks your
way that are bound to 'oooo and ahhhh' your eyes, ears,
and tickle your GUI fancy every which way!
Speaking
of ahhh-some, Rampant
Mac's Scott Chitwood takes color
simplicity to its purest form, mixes it with 3-D, and
out comes RGB!
This terrific piece will be jumpin' out at ya better
than the shiniest box of Crayolas!
Martin
Schulte from Terraholic.net blows
in with Sandstorm,
another of his landscape masterpieces
made with Terragen. This mind blowing work will bring
your desktop to life, if not blow the documents off
your desk as if in reality!
Nature -
We just had requests for more Nature pics. Well requesters,
you've just been blessed-ered with the return of some
ultra fine work from Michael
Heath! Michael gets up
close with his digital camera and snaps Fern
Up-Close 1.
This beautiful work never needs water and should add a
touch of Spring to you GUI experience!
Desktops -
Stefan Poulos from PoulosDesign steps
up our Desktop Department with Eagle,
a patriotic piece done right after September 11. The
work "open to interpretation" is based on the words
of Victor Hugo -- "There is one thing stronger
than all the armies in the world. And that is an idea
of
whose time is come."
From
the Guvna, mmm, guess that would be EA
Design's Ed
Allen, comes Something
More.
And of course that comes in 800 and 1024! Gads...I'm a
poet and my feet smell. But not this fantastic piece from
Ed. You know it and so do my feet!!
Well
well. It's time to wrap up the fun with a colorful
work from MacMonkies' Bradford
Wiles titled Outta
Here.
Now if you look REAL close, you'll see the Punk paintin'
the town Purple (with his arm up over his shoulder)
as he is kickin' up his feet. His Purple cap is on
backward
and he's
on his
way
out.
Can you see him? Enjoy!
