Weekend Update!

December 1, 2002

ScoogeAnother Christmas Carol? - Every day a peddler pulled his cart of wool from his home to the village market. It was a long trip. He had to travel around the perimeter of a large lake that was owned by the town tycoon, a modern-day scrooge. One day during the winter the lake frozen over. The peddler realized that he could cut off two miles from his trip if he crossed over the lake. He was spotted halfway across the lake by the tycoon. Scrooge came racing out of his mansion and screamed at the peddler, "I'll be darned if I let anyone pull the wool over my ice!"

Just A Thought - If you give it all you've got, you might end up with nothing. But if you don't give it anything at all, what do you have to gain?

Today's Smirk - A woman had twins, and gave them up for adoption. One of them went to a family in Egypt and was named Amal. The other went to a family in Spain; they named him Juan. Years later, Juan sent a picture of himself to his mom. Upon receiving the picture, she told her husband that she wished she also had a picture of Amal. Her husband responded, "But honey, they are twins -- if you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal." Hee Hee!

Quote of the Day - Conditions are never just right. People who delay action until all factors are favorable do nothing.

Odds and Ends

Things That Make A Gorilla Go Huh????? - R. Westby

Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice"?

We are born naked, wet, and hungry. Then things get worse.

If you lined up all the cars in the world end to end, would someone be dumb enough to try and pass them?

Is the severity of the itch proportional to inability to the reach it?

Could it be possible that their is a logical reason why research causes cancer in rats?

Why is it when everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane?

AND REMEMBER . . . . Money is not the root of all evil. Greed is.

Jingle Turkeys - "Jingle Bells," a popular Christmas song, was actually written for Thanksgiving. The song was composed in 1857, by James Pierpont, and was originally called "One Horse Open Sleigh."
