Woo

2.2 - If anyone knows fun, it's the Ben
Haller of Stick
Software. And Ben has just
released Big
Foot 2.2, one of my all time favorite "useless" applications.
Well, it IS useful for a smile, as you have fun feet prancing
all over your Mac OSX desktop. And
the latest version adds a new behavior for the feet, has
a brand-new icon by Alexander MacLean of widgetwidget.com,
adds support
for Dutch to the many languages already supported, and
fixes a console log bug on OS X 10.2. Seeing is believing,
so we suggest you do some immediate stomping over to Stick
Software and check it out!

This
definition of "compiler" must
rank as the BEST of the possible wrong answers. Written
by a student in a introductory Computer Science course.
"A
compiler's primary function is to compile, organize the
compilation, and go right back to
compiling. It compiles basically only those things that
require to be compiled, ignoring things that should not
be compiled. The main way a compiler compiles, is to compile
the things to be compiled until the compilation is complete."

Mac
Music - Apple will soon be releasing
a new music downloading service according to the Los Angeles
Times. The new service is unannounced at this time, but
it is said that it will be released with the next version
of iTunes. It will be exclusively for Mac users and will
allow them to "buy and download commercially available
music in a simple, non-technical way." - from MacCentral
Clerical
Computer Error - A man named Brian Law received
an erroneous electric bill from British Gas
for $2.3 trillion. He forgot to pay the initial bill for
$59.00 and received the $2.3 bill as a final notice from
the company. After going to court on the issue, British
Gas agreed that Law only owed $59.00 and called the error
a "simple clerical mistake" due to the "computer
mixing up the reference number for the property." Sounds
like my luck. - from Ananova

At
The Top -
Hooray for Wednesday! It is now hump day, the official
time of the week to start sliding into the weekend.
And of course to make it through the mid-week blues,
we have new GUI goodies in store with our Wednesday
Desktop Edition. If we only had enough duct tape
for old Monkie Mouth, we would have it made! Oh well...let's
dig in!
New
GOO!
New Desktops
- Me thinks it's time to kick back and let your eyes
enjoy this week's gathering of Desktop goodies. There's
7 works of wonderment to grab from some artists that
are very close to my feet...er, I mean heart. I best
shuddup and find the duct tape!
Etc... -
Bustin' down the doors of our Etc. Department is the
combination of power and strength with Bruce
and Apple by
Grzegorz (Greg) Przymus. Greg is obviously a big
Bruce Lee fan and certainly
has great taste in computers!
Desktops - From
the Digital Workshop of Peter
J. Sucy comes quite the creative piece titled Eclipsed.
Peter was inspired by Gravity Well, a background that
was included with Max Rudberg's BBX Theme for OSX.
The two talents collided and...SHAZZAM! Another cool
pic by Peter!
Sneakin'
in to our second slot of the Desktop variety is Mr.
Slither with Snake
Eyes...Oh
hi Ed! Sorry man! That would be Sir Ed Allen of EA
Design with quite the clever design
using his usual minimalistic brilliance. Almost makes ya
think you were looking into
the sun, or perhaps the Eclipse too long. =)
And
speaking of light, we have another phenomenal work
from Jack Juliussen titled Road
Light.
This great selection is one of the many outstanding works
that proudly grace the galleries of Prevision.
And we're pleased as punch to have this quality work here
as well!
3
Dimensions - Back
after a long hiatus from the digital canvas is Melissa,
the lady of class from MAJArch
Studios. This week Melissa
submits Submerged,
a piece that begs the question "Rising or sinking?"
This one is sure to rise to the top of the crop of
your Aqua experience!
From
the awesome galleries of PlasmaDesign,
Rob Randtoul offers quite the work of beginnings with Genesis.
Rob certainly has a talent for all things Aqua and
shiny, but the ending seems nowhere in site...Is that
a hint or what!
Stretched
out and flattened onto a Bryce canvas comes Stressed,
a shiny little piece from the Monkie Man himself,
Bradford Wiles. And it's about time! We were beginning
to wonder what that Monkie Head was up to. Enjoy!
Thanks
Department --
Melissa,
Greg, Peter, Ed, Rob, and Jack...
It's
a blast to have your excellence grace our pages!
THANKS!!

TWICE THE SIZE
A
Texan farmer goes to Australia for a vacation. There
he meets an Aussie farmer and gets talking. The Aussie
shows off his big wheat field and the Texan says, "Oh!
We have wheat fields that are at least twice as large." Then
they walk around the ranch a little and the Aussie shows
off his herd of cattle. The Texan immediately says, "We
have longhorns that are at least twice as large as your
cows."
The
conversation has, meanwhile, almost died when the Texan
sees a herd of kangaroos hopping through
the field. He asks, "And what are those?"
The
Aussie asks with an incredulous look, "Don't
you have any grasshoppers in Texas?"

man visits his aunt in the nursing home. It turns out
that she is taking a nap, so he just sits down in a chair
in her room, flips through a few magazines, and munches
on some peanuts sitting in a bowl on the table. Eventually,
the aunt wakes up, and her nephew realizes he's absentmindedly
finished the entire bowl. "I'm
so sorry, auntie, I've eaten all of your peanuts!"
"That's
okay, dearie," the aunt replied. "After
I've sucked the chocolate off, I don't care for them
anyway."
