BAD TO WORSE

A woman's husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months, yet she stayed by his bedside every single day. When he came to, he motioned for her to come nearer. As she sat by him, he said, "You know what? You have been with me all through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business failed, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you gave me support. When my health started failing, you were still by my side...You know what?"

"What dear?" she asked gently.

"I think you bring me bad luck."

CLOTHES TREK

Very funny Scotty. Now beam up my clothes.

viPod Promotion Party - Apple Stores across the country will be promoting the newest iPod this Friday. The iPod will be available in Apple stores May 2, 2003, along with free posters and $10 limited-edition T-shirts. (The T-shirt is free to those who buy an iPod.) DJ’s will be spinning music off iPods and a few locations will even have live bands. Customers will also be able to "enter to win a JBL sound system worth US$1800." - from MacObserver

iTunes Does Windows - Apple has announced that a Windows version of the Windows iTunesiTunes Music Store will be available by the end of the year. Users will need iTunes to access the store, so Apple has posted a job opening for a software engineer to develop iTunes for Windows. Between iTunes, the iPod and the iTunes store, critics agree that what Apple has to offer is "Simply the best in digital music." - from PC Pro

Editor's Rant: LOOK! It's an iPod connected to an iMac playing iTunes! iJust can't iMagine that. iThink that all this iStuff is pretty cool. But iDunno how much longer iCan handle all of the iNames. This world is already so iCentric as it is. SHEESH!!!! iWonder if Mr. Jobs has ever heard The Beatles' song by George Harrison called I, Me Mine. "All through the day, I me mine, I me mine, I me mine..." Maybe Apple can come up with a "WhatcanEYEdo4YOUpod." OK...iGuess it's back to the iDrawing board.

New GOO!

New Desktops - Desktops and Dimensions of 3 are what we have in pairs this week in the Gallery! Three in each pair make for a fine set of 6 waiting to arrive on your desktop for a big old GUI grin. Let's get to lookin'!

PicescherDesktops - Grab your shades as bold and bright Bob Wiley brings forth another eye-astounding piece titled Picescher. So Bob begs the question: What if Picasso had collaborated with Escher? Take that into account plus Manet's famous Impression du Soleil Levant, and you get Bob's latest work, Picescher!

Another example of Michael Heath's photographic expertise is a close-up guitar shot called Stringed Instrument. This great selection continues to strum its way into the greatest hits department of your desktop collections and is certain to be a smash, even among Pete Townshend's splintered guitars!

The ClosingClosing up the this week's Desktop Department is a fabulous piece from EA Design called The Closing. Webmaster and desktop designer Ed Allen makes for the magnificent with his trademark style of Aqua minimalism. No clutter here. Just a good dose of class and style!

3-D Rendered - Bouncing into the 3-D Department is Prevision's Jack Juliussen with an exuberant Boing! Jack offers extra spring to your desktop's step with an added smile or 9 and a great time for all by design! This is a must-have selection to get you through your work week blues.

Polar DawnBreaking the light of day from the galleries of PlasmaDesign comes Polar Dawn by Rob Randtoul. This is one gorgeous piece that might keep you from making it to work on time if you like to enjoy the morning sunrise and a brisk walk with the penguins. Breath taking!

Our final selection in this week's Wednesday Desktop Edition is the wondrous work from the galleries of ShiftedReality titled Rays 2002. Juergen Eilts sports his awe-inspiring abilities with a work he created using Digital Element Worldbuilder 3.5. This composition creates a peace and calm that only the comes in 2nd place to the real thing. Enjoy!

XDarwin 4.3XDarwin 4.3.0 - Do you use XDarwin or X11 on Mac OS X on a regular basis? If so, then you need to grab a copy of XDarwin 4.3. With the popular resurgence of Linux servers, it is more important than ever to have XDarwin. IN GOD'S NAME

A Christian man had just died and was on his way to heaven. When he got to the gates of heaven he met an angel. The angel asked him what God's name was.

"Oh that's easy," the man replied, "His name is Andy."

"What makes you think his name is Andy?" the angel asked incredulously.

"Well, you see at Church we used to sing this song 'Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me.'"

New Monkie Poll - Time for the polls where NOBODY wins -- The Monkie Poll! Last week's Poll was peculiar, and this week's is different. Let's do the dive!

Monkie PollIn last week's poll, we asked about your dressing habits: When I dress, I put on my... And for the answer choices, we offered Socks first, Underwear first, Deodorant first, and I sleep/shower in my clothes! There was no "catch" to this poll, just a crazy question. I think when I wrote the poll, I found myself doing the deodorant first. But after looking at the results, I thought the underwear would be a better bet in case of a fire and I had to run outside! Here's what you said:

Underwear First 48% - Good choice in case you have to suddenly leave your house!

Deodorant First 37% - For those of you who like to smell good in your Birthday Suit.

I sleep/shower in my clothes! 9% - Safe from all angles, but the smell!!

Socks first 5% - Just remember, if you have to leave in a hurry...!

For this week's Monkie Poll, we will give the Poll a different function and test your trivia skills. Here's the pitch: Of The Beatles, who wrote 'Hey Jude'? Easy right? Take a little click, look to your right, and get to voting. Happy Day Trippin' in the Trivia Poll!

BREAK TIME: STOP IT!!!!

One day, a mechanic was working late under a car and some brake fluid dripped into his mouth. "Wow! That stuff isn't too bad tasting," he thought. The next day, he told his buddy about tasting the brake fluid, and that he was drinking a cup with lunch. His friend was a little concerned but didn't say anything. The next day, he decided to drink a pint. The day after that, he was up to a full bottle's worth.

His friend was now really worried. ''You know, that brake fluid is poison and really bad for you. You better stop drinking that stuff!" "Hey, no problem," he said. "I can stop any time!"

HOW SHORT AM I???

You know you're short when you can play racquetball on the curb.

SMOKING AT A GAS STATION

A guy was at the gas station pumping gas and smoking a cigarette when his arm caught on fire.

When the police arrived, he was arrested for waving a firearm.

HOT HUMOR GONE COLD

A man walks into a store and sees a thermos. "May I help you?" asks a store clerk.

"Yeah! What's that?"

"Why, that's a thermos! It keeps hot things hot and cold things cold!"

The man buys it and the next day the man goes to work carrying this thermos. His co-workers ask what it is, and he tells them. "It's a thermos. It keeps hot things hot, and cold things cold."

"What do you have in there?"

"Two popsicles and a cup of coffee."
