REAL DUMP The
real estate agent says, "I have
a good, cheap apartment for you."
The
man replies, "By
the week or by the month?"
The
agent answers, "By
the garbage dump."
DUUUUDE!!!!!!
There
is a California dude going through a desert. He's wearing
shorts, sunglasses, a towel and
listening to music on his iPod. He's having a good time.
Suddenly he sees a caravan approaching. He stops the Arabs
and ask them cheerfully: "Hey dudes! How far
is the sea?"
They
look at each other and say: "Two
thousand miles!"
And
he says: "Wow! What a cool
beach!!!"
SMART
DUCK!
One
day a duck went to the supermarket. He went up and down
the aisles. Then he walked up to the
store manager
and said, "Got any Duck food?"
The
manager replied, "No, we only have people food here."
The
duck left. The next day the duck went back to the
supermarket. He went up and down the aisles. He walked
up to the manager
and said, "Got any duck food?"
He
replied, "No!
We only sell people food here and if you ask me again I
will nail your feet to the ground!" The duck left.
The
duck returned to the supermarket the next day. He walked
up and down the aisles. He walked up to the manager
and asked, "Got any nails?"
He
replied, "No."
Then
the duck asked, "Got any duck food?"

The Good Tunes Roll - Listeners of the WFMU radio station
in New York will never be left high
and dry during a thunderstorm again, thanks to Apple’s
iPod. The main manager installed an iPod to their transmitter,
finding that it took little space and was cost effective
too. Now when the music just won’t ride the waves
of the satellite due to inclement weather, the DJ just
dials up to a remote control unit and lets the iPod spin
a variety of tunes at random for listeners. All with only

Fortunate
Feline - Stray cat Tinker got rich overnight
when his widowed owner, Margaret Layne, willed
a $100,000 trust fund and a house to him. Lucy and Stardust,
female felines, have since joined Tinker in the cat house
to share in his fortune. Layne’s former neighbors
give the cats food and milk every day, and have even fixed
up the house a bit using the trust fund. The neighbors
get the house when Tinker moves on to animal heaven. So
someone gets the cat house after Tinker...Hmmmm. - from

7 great works to put in the doldrums place! If the desktop
blahs got ya down, then we've got just what the doctor
ordered! Let's medicate!
3-D
Rendered - Giving your desktop
a golden GUI experience opportunity is an astonishing
piece from ShiftedReality called River
of Gold. This sweet selection flows onto
your desktop from the ever creative abilities of Juergen
Eilts using Vue d'Esprit 3.1.
Okay!
I admit it!!! I just couldn't wait to get through Alan
Sherwood's entire 'Waiting' series, so I went to Waiting
V and got the dessert. There are so many great
selections at burntcanvasdesign,
that in actuality, ALL of them are a treat!
Always
making amazement with works of GUI goodness is Rob
Randtoul from PlasmaDesign. This week's cool contribution
called Storm
Eye is sure to blow your sense of virtual reality.
Careful of the neon!
Calming
the storm is a serene scene from Terraholic
called Orange Sky.
Mr. Martin Schulte creates this beautiful number using
Terragen, a landscape-generator programmed by Matt Fairclough.
Let your eyes kick back, relax, and enjoy the next best
thing to being in the great out doors.
Etc...
- Our single selection sneakin' into the Etc. Department
is a super fast critter with a surprise attack. Panther comes
to us from icon artist Harvey Lubin of AGRAPHA
Icons,
a shuttle from the mother ship of
Agrapha.com. Cool critter and fine design!
Desktops -
Don't know how he does it...keepin' those quality
pics stocked up at EA
Design. Maybe it's just Lucky
Pressure! Or at least that's one of the
latest greatest minimalistic creations from author Ed
Allen. I guess less
really IS more!
Closing
out this week's Desktop Session is MacMonkies' Bradford
Wiles with Up
and Over. This ode to blue includes a twist
of Bryce and a touch of Flood from Flaming

Apple's
Record: Over The Top - Apple is breaking
records by selling records! It only took them one week
to "become
the largest online music company in the world." They
have topped a million songs sold and a million downloads
of iTunes 4 since introducing
the iTunes
Music Store. Song purchases soared from a variety
of genres, and half of them were sold as albums. Fasten
your seat belts because as of today, Apple adds 3,200
more songs to their list. Ready, set, ROCK! - from

New Monkie
Poll -
It's that time again -- time for more "useless" information. Actually,
I think they call that "trivia." Whatever the name, it's
time for this week's Monkie Poll and last week's
results. Let's look!
In last
week's poll, we asked: Of
The Beatles, who wrote 'Hey Jude'? Your
choices were: Lennon/McCartney, John Lennon, Paul
McCartney, Ringo, and Mary Hopkins. Before
we give the answer, let's look at what
you said:
Paul
McCartney 68%
- Seems some of you know something a few are about
to discover.
Lennon
and McCartney 11%
- The song is credited to have been written by Lennon
and McCartney.
John
Lennon 8% - Lennon
gave the 'nod'!
Ringo 6%
- Just a great drummer in the greatest rock and roll
band. He sang and wrote a few songs while in The Beatles.
Mary
Hopkins 6% - There was a Mary
Hopkin that
had a hit with "Those Were the Days" on The Beatles
Apple Records label, but no Mary Hopkins that I am
aware of.
It
seems we have quite a few Beatleaniacs among us! Though
'Hey Jude' is credited to be a Lennon/McCartney tune,
Paul had the entire song completed when he presented
it to John and Yoko Ono. Paul was going to nix the line
"the movement you need is on your shoulders," but
John insisted Paul leave it in.
For
this week's Monkie
Poll, we simply want to know: Have
you purchased music from the iTunes Music Store? Let
us know by taking a little
click, looking to your
right, and throw your vote. Tune it up!
