miX the piX - Master miXer Hein Mevissen brings a great deal of honor to the Monkie hut with a made-for-MacMonkies icon set titled miXmonkies. This awesome pair of pixel pleasers is based on the Brushed series from miX the piX and sports a brushed MacMonkies logo along with a super cool Monkie Link Button. I can't begin to express how pleased this Monkie is for Hein's generosity and amazing abilities. Thanks Hein!

wbc icons - The great Yazoo of wbc icons pumps up your icon blood pressure with another awe-inspiring entry titled Yazoo Switch. This great set of 29 Switch Plate Icons offers an awesome selection of System based "switchers." Desktops - Always in search of something different and new, Bob Wiley offers his latest with Foreign. Bob began this desktop quest with a Bryce render, but then worked with it extensively in Photoshop. The result is definitely one of his best pieces of landscape ever, abstract or otherwise! Enjoy!

Pixel Possibilities - G'Day folks! What a crazy week this has been. And since the madness has spun circles around the Monkie Maestro, there may very well be another GUI Update in the works for Friday. Now mind the mindless, this is only a pixel possibility at the moment. But the chances are good to see a couple Desktops and a couple Icon Sets. No money back guarantees! =) So for tomorrow, slip by the Place of Monkie if you please and see if the Monkie has had a chance to sneeze.

Gates and Brokaw: Common Criminals - Just because a person is book smart doesn't mean they always show them self to be the smartest person in the world. As a classic example, computer guru Bill Gates and broadcaster Tom Brokaw met for an interview last week in Watertown, South Dakota, ordered cappuccinos and walked out without paying for them. Watertown's cafe forgave their debt, but Brokaw took the high road back to his home state and went the extra mile by paying them above and beyond the cash for the coffee. Sheesh! Brazilian Officer Beats The Odds - Talk about hard-headed! An officer in Brazil didn't quite bite the bullet, but it was close enough. Officer Santos was shot in the forehead within a range of five feet while trying to arrest someone, and the bullet simply lodged between his skin and his skull. He didn't even have a scuff or a scar on his skull to show for it! It is unknown why the bullet stopped, but officer Santos is now known as 'Steel Forehead' all over town. - from Ananova

More At The Top - So...When you take the time to make time for extra time, what do you find? EXTRA TIME! Arrrrrgh!!!! I scheduled personal time to go hut hunting, but the old "running into the dead end" syndrome has kicked in. So where's the Desktops? Though I did manage to have extra time, there just wasn't sufficient time to do a full GUI Update.

All of this translated means that there is time for a mid-week Boot Panel Edition! This includes a great new boot panel submission, Community News, Software News On The Net, and a bit of Bananas. Oh yeah...Mindy Weaver of The Iconfactory really isn't 167 years old. But she sure is a sweetheart. I just hope Ged is not reading this! =) Anyhoo...time to boogie!

Happicon - They've done it again! Rene from Happicon and Max Rudberg from Max Themes have teamed up to bring you iFix©2.1. This great appearance "hack" adds blue or traffic widgets, akin to the one in Max's Smoothstripes themes, to both QuickTime Player 6.2 and iTunes 4. It also adds updated iMovie style plastic buttons to Quicktime Player 6.2, in Aqua blue or in Graphite, as well as the new iTunes slider button. At The Top - Well well! Welcome to the "I can't believe I found the extra time Edition!" As I mentioned yesterday, this week's Updates are on hold, or at least they will be made only when time allows due to moving. But, as your can see, time allowed for a tad bit of Monkie Madness. I don't know about the rest of the the week, but I will keep pluggin' away when possible. With that said, let's get to it!

PlasmaDesign - Just added to the super cool GUI galleries of PlasmaDesign is a new desktop selection titled Cyclone. This new image is available to all visitors at a resolution of 1024x768 and to members at 1600x1200. Hurry over to PlasmaDesign and get to grabbin' a copy of this great new work!

ControlSplitter 1.0 - The fine application crafters of Realmac Software have just announced the release of ControlSplitter 1.0. This cool app is a canvas control for REALbasic; it functions as a window splitter control. It divides up your window into sections and allows these sections to be resized by the user. DVD Disposables - Disney is piloting a program to sell self-destructive DVDs in August 2003. The idea is to profit from DVD renters by eliminating the hassle of taking time out of their busy schedules to return them. Disposable DVDs will be sold in stores and, once opened, will chemically rust themselves until they are unreadable. This will take about two days, during which time they can be copied like any other DVD, but after that they are not good for anything but the dumpster. Sounds like Mission Impossible to me. - from CNET

Monkey Spins Winning Wheel- Canada's latest celebrity, Maggie the monkey, has become famous for choosing the Anaheim Mighty Ducks to win the Stanley Cup for ice hockey. Maggie has maneuvered her way onto the sports channel (TSN) by spinning a wheel showing the names of hockey teams. Whether by mind or matter, Maggie landed the arrow on the Anaheim logo every time. It seems the monkey was their good luck charm, because The Ducks started out as the underdogs until Maggie came along. Wish this Monkie was so lucky! - from ABC

At The Top - Dudes! Dudettes!!! It's Monday...AAAAAAAHHHCK! Oh well. Time to plop the toothpicks in the old pupil covers and peek at the week. And to begin this week, we have another new Monkie Poll nested in the Monkie News section. And then we've got some Community News, Software News On The Net, and Bananas too.

Also, the rest of the week will be lesser in Monkie action as I will be moving to a new tree. Updates will be put on temporary hold this week. I will need some extra time to pack and move once I find a vine. Everything here will be fine at the Monkie Hut as it is staying put. Just the Monkie Man will move. So while I am away, I am sure you monkies will play. And I will try to squeeze in more Updates if time allows. If not, we will be back next week.
