- Harold Coffin

Envy is a symptom of lack of appreciation of our own uniqueness and self worth. Each of us has something to give that no one else has.

MacMonkies' 14th Icon Edition! - Great gobs o' GUI, Monkie Man! Have we got some hot stuff in the line of Icons this week! Drum roll please...

PacMallionFlax Creations - Mr. Dan Flax gets the action going with a fine set of icons titled Geometrics - featuring a couple fun flashbacks from the 80's.

Also from the cool collections of Flax Creations is Spot Icons 1. No gettin' "dogged" with this colorful set of 17 iconian beauts!

miXthepiX - Mr. Hein Mevissen adds plenty of color and class with a wonderfully crafted set of I Tunes icons.

Another great bunch of icons from miXthepiX is an awesome lineup of new and classic Mac hardware in Hein's Hardware 5!

Pixel Jerk - Sporting a simple yet outstanding pair of icons is Bowling Pin from Samuel Krueger at Pixel Jerk. This cool pair is certain to strike up plenty of attention with lots of room to spare!

DV Graphics - Finishing off this week's fine selection of Icons is the ever creative Paul Sahner, head pixel designer and bottle washer at DV Graphics. This week Paul tosses a fine-tuned set of OSX-only application replacements your way with X Apps!

Being portrayed in icon form is some of your favorite Mac web Monkie Crewpersonalities in everybody's favorite series, MacGeeks2! You might even find a Monkie or three lurking about in this not-so-bashful-batch of Mac mouths! We're not in the LEAST bit "prejudice" toward this AWESOME set! =) Enjoy!

Check 'em out!

Fantastic 8 In The Desktop Gallery - Eight energizing Desktop selections come your way in the Gallery from some of the Mac Web's finest desktop artists! Grab a good, long stare!

Desktop Delight! - Mr. Todd Darland offers one of his finest Desktop works to date with a beautiful rendition of the Aurora Borealis In Concert! This lovely display of colours will add style and class to any desktop!

Another natural beauty from the many fine works of EMK Design is organic medium. This peaceful piece will blend in nicely as your desktop backdrop and compliment your computer experience.

Polishing off the Desktop Department is Mr. Scott Chitwood of the reestablished Rampant Mac. Scott brings us Art Desk no9, which is a unique blend of...a nice combination...er, umm...well, how DOES one describe this "thing" from Mr. Chitwood's over-achieving mental abilities to carry out Steve Jobs' "command" to Think Different?!! Let your eyes decide as they are sure to enjoy this great piece. Have fun!

ShimmerDefining Dimensions In 3-D -Melissa from MAJArch Studios adds some finesse with a "glimmerous" Bryce rendered piece from The Studios titled Shimmer.

Alan Sherwood brings us another ponderous piece titled Screams of Silent Victims from the galleries of EA Design. From Alan:

A piece tweaked in Photoshop, to show the people that have no say, that, although differing in opinion, cannot make a difference. The oppressed peoples, who have no vote, no job, no hope, no peace, no rest. Inspired by Rage Against The Machine.

Though a portrait of those with no voice, Alan speaks loud and clear with another excellent work.

Finishing up the Desktop festivities are three new Monkie works from the head Monkie himself, Mean Mr. Monkie. Sprucing up the place is a fun and fuzzy work from an orderly mess titled Organized Chaos (there really is a method to the madness hiding in there).

Next in line is a little music in the style of Minuet and Trio.

And finally, things really are not as they seem in a world of never ending compromise as we present to you: Politics As Usual.

SPECIAL THANKS

To:

Melissa, Dan, Scott, Paul,
Sam, Evan, Alan, Hein
, and Todd -

AMAZING work!
Ten toes up to all of you!

Have you Heard?

Macworld Expo In New York - With the MWNY beginning today, predictions regarding future improvements to the Apple platform are suspended as everyone waits in bated breathe for the "real thing." It's time to wait to see how many "predictions" come true. Here's a quick rundown on what one might expect:

Jobs is expected to announce all the latest Apple products, possibly including a revised 17" iMac, a 20 GB iPod, an updated iTunes, and the re-branding of iTools to ".Mac" (dot Mac). Not expected to be announced are any "speed-bumps" in the Power Mac line up. However, an in depth demonstration of the soon-to-come incarnation of OSX, code-named Jaguar, is expected to be delivered during the Keynote address.

Keep your Bananas peeled and we'll keep ya posted!

Odds and Ends

True Success!

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success.

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Which End's Up!

God gave us two ends - one to sit on and one to think with. Success depends on which one you use. Head you win, tail you lose.
