Sharp
Dressed iMac: iMac Clothes - Owners of the G4 iMac may want
to consider buying a "shirt" to protect it from dust
and monkie hair. But who wants to cover up such a beautiful machine?
Luckily, iMacclothes
has come up with a translucent, lightweight "iMac Screen
Shirt." It can be purchased at the iMacclothes website for
$20.00. iMacclothes also hopes to have a "keyboard scarf"
and a "base blouse" available soon. Ohhh! Be sure to wear the under garment!

Who's Who In The Who - The Who had their first concert
without bass player John Entwistle Monday on night at the Hollywood Bowl.
Fans gave the group a standing ovation before the set began.
Video tape of the group rehearsing with Entwistle was played
before the show. They opened with the songs "I Can't Explain"
and "Substitute." Video tape exclusively of Entwistle
was played at the end of the show as well. Entwistle died in
his sleep last Thursday and fellow band members, Pete Townshend
and Roger Daltrey, decided to go on with the band's tour as a
tribute to him. - from

Apple Awards: Never Cease - Golden Apples continue to
shine. The Apple iMac,
iPod, and the Apple Stores took gold awards from the 2002 Industrial
Design Excellence Awards, as announced by Business

Sun Sparks: Early Fireworks - A huge explosion occurred
on the sun Monday, spanning the distance
of "more than 30 times the length of Earth's diameter."
It shot out from the sun like a huge leg. Astronomers call this
type of explosion an eruptive prominence. The term describes
a set of magnetic fields trapping hot gas. Extensive satellite
pictures of these real-life sunny fireworks can be viewed in

Black II, the sequel to the 1997 hit Men In Black, hits theaters
everywhere. But what could be better than this great show starring
Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones? The Men In Black II website

Have you Heard?
MWNY: Think Secret On The Hush Hush - With the Macworld
Expo in New York just around the corner (July 15-19), the
buzz about the net regarding the future of Apple products and
events is traditionally rather quiet. Though some are reporting
that a 1.5 GHz G4 Mac is expected to make its debut at the Expo,
others are buzzing more on the "hush" than the happenings.
Think
Secret reports that Apple is quieting the rumors about the
net by "denying any site it considers having run 'rumor
news' from obtaining press credentials to this month's Expo convention
in New York City." This practice apparently started last
January at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco. Though the rumor
mills may be denied the access to such events, it is unlikely
that such practices will slow the sites in too great a fashion.
It will be very interesting to see how this one unfolds.

Software For Sore Eyes! - Clean up that desktop! CUSTOMIZE that Mac! One
thing you gotta love about the Mac is the third part developers
that pick up where Apple left off! And one great app for OSX
that does just that is Gideon
Softworks' completely rewritten Dock-It.
Dock-It is a multifunctional launcher and Finder enhancer
for the Mac OS X operating system. Check out these features:
- Create Multiple Docks
- Docks can be used to hold files, folders,
applications, scripts etc...
- Supports all Finder file operation modifiers
(ie Apple-Option is make alias etc...).
- Streamlines Finder file operations using
the Dock-It shelf feature.
- Streamlines drive access by placing all
mounted drives in a dock. No more moving windows just to get
at your desktop to open your hard drive.
- Navigate folder contents without opening
a single finder window.
- Works with your favorite "Get Info"
utility - you aren't locked into one.
If you were a fan of Dock-It before, you're
gonna love this version! What ARE you waiting for? You gotta
grab a copy of this cool application!

HELP WANTED: TECH SUPPORT
One guy was on duty in the main lab on a
quiet afternoon. He noticed a young woman sitting in front of
one of the workstations with her arms crossed across her chest
and staring at the screen. After about 15 minutes he noticed
that she was still in the same position only now she was impatiently
tapping her foot. He asked if she needed help and she replied,
"It's about time! I pushed the "Help" button on
my computer over twenty minutes ago!"
I DREAM OF GENIE?
A man found a magic genie who would grant
him one wish. The man said to the genie," I wish that I
had a non-stop bridge from here to Hawaii."
The genie said," I'm sorry, but that's
going to be very hard. Do you have another wish?"
The man answered, "Of course! I want
the power to understand all women."
The genie thought for a minute. He replied,
"How many platforms did you want on that bridge?"
TWAIN: SHORT BUT TRUE!
As most computer geeks are aware, there
are special programs to run scanners. These programs use a TWAIN
driver to perform the scanning. TWAIN, the acronym, stands for:
Technology Without An Interesting Name.

SOMEBODY GET ME A DOCTOR!
A lawyer was cross-examining the doctor
about whether or not he had checked the pulse of the deceased
before he signed the death certificate.
"No," the doctor said. "I
did not check his pulse."
"And did you listen for a heartbeat?"
asked the lawyer.
"No I did not," the doctor said.
"So," said the lawyer, "when
you signed the death certificate, you had not taken steps to
make sure he was dead."
The doctor said, "Well, let me put
it this way. The man's brain was in a jar in a jar on my desk
but, for all I know, he could be out practicing law somewhere."
